Buri Ram is 410km Northeast from Bangkok.  There is nothing special in this town.  The province of Buri Ram contains the magnificent Khmer sanctuary of Phanom Rung.  It is one of the finest Khmer sanctuaries in Thailand.  It is within easy reach from Buri Ram.  64km south of the city. 

In Buri Ram, there is a new Isan Cultural Center to prepare and develop the northeast's distinctive Isan culture has been opened  to support a museum containing arte-facts found in the province and beyond.  This include stages dance, music and drama performances, exhibitions of folk art.
